Despite being the site of our nation’s capital, the D.C. – area is saddled with a high poverty rate and a relatively tiny geographic area.
As the region – and its school system – gentrifies, ensuring educational equity for low-income students becomes ever more important.

Students in our program are recruited from our partner schools in the Washington D.C. – area. Partnering with our organization provides local high schools with:
- College and career mentoring to low-income students
- Additional support from our team of youth development experts
- Opportunities for our organization and partners to build a college-going culture and community
Our team is made up of case managers, each of whom support multiple mentor-student pairs with college application assistance, college persistence intervention, skill development training, and more. To keep students on a proven path to success, we provide them with financial incentives ($150 per semester) if they meet key program requirements and milestones.

We partner with the following high schools in the Washington D.C. – area to help see their students to and through college:
- Benjamin Banneker Academic High School
- McKinley Technology High School
- Capital City Public Charter School
- Columbia Heights Education Campus
- Cesar Chavez Parkside High School
- Phelps Architecture, Construction, and Engineering High School
- Bard High School Early College DC
